About this bot

Ledger is the back-office bot. It matches bank lines to invoices, codes what it can to the chart of accounts, and produces a short list of the items that genuinely need a human — rather than a long list that needs one anyway.

It is built for the close. Ledger keeps a live checklist of accruals, prepayments, intercompany positions and open items, and drafts the VAT worksheets in the format the accountant already uses.

The rule it will not bend: Ledger prepares, a human posts. Every proposed entry arrives as a draft with the evidence attached and a named approver, because an autonomous bot with journal-entry rights is a control failure, not a feature.

What it does

  • Reconciles bank statements against invoices and surfaces only genuinely unmatched items.
  • Captures and codes incoming invoices to the chart of accounts with a confidence score.
  • Prepares VAT / UStVA worksheets in the format the accountant already uses.
  • Maintains the month-end close checklist: accruals, prepayments, intercompany, open items.
  • Writes budget-variance commentary that names the driver rather than restating the number.

What it will not do

  • Prepares, never posts. A named human books every entry.
  • Not a tax adviser. Nothing it produces is Steuerberatung or a filing opinion.
  • Flags low-confidence coding instead of guessing to reach 100% coverage.
