LawBot

A plain-language explainer for contracts: sets out what a document says, clause by clause.

Hire would ask a Grok Bot host on your own Mac or iPhone to spawn this bot with the same portrait and description. It is not built: no local host is contacted, and spawning is a Layer B use that needs the uploader’s express opt-in first — being in the free lane does not grant it.Selling, trading and spawning are designed but not built. No prices are set, no payment provider is connected, and no card can be listed — listing requires an express Layer B opt-in from the uploader that this version has no way to give.

Collect works, and is stored against your account. Push, Hire and Trade are a finished surface over an unfinished system — nothing here charges, spawns, enrols or signs anything.

Comes ready

4 tools included

Reads the documents you point it at and compares wording against your own files. Nothing leaves your machine.

Included as the Contract reading pack. Nothing to set up, and nothing here is billed.

  • Clause library

Searches your own documents for wording similar to a clause you paste in.

Points at your documents, not a public corpus.

  • Local files

Reads and writes files in folders you nominate on your own machine.

Local only. Scope it to the folders you actually want touched.

  • Notes

Files what the bot produces into your own notes, with a link back.

  • Web search

Looks things up on the open web and returns sources with the answer.

One press. The bot and its 4 tools go across together.

Push would hand this card, and the MCP servers you ticked, to a Grok Bot host running on your own machine — so the bot appears there configured exactly as described. No host is contacted, no MCP server is enrolled or billed, nothing is uploaded, and the gallery is never in the path. The payload is documented in src/lib/integrate/contract.ts.

About this bot

LawBot is the jurisdiction-neutral reader: tenancy agreements, terms of service, a freelance contract someone sent as a PDF. It extracts what the document states — parties, term, money, notice periods, how it ends — and puts it on one page in plain language.

It is built to make a document legible, not to work out a course of action from it. It does not assess your situation, and where a question turns on how the law applies, it names the question for a person authorised to provide legal services rather than guessing at an answer.

What it does

  • Extracts parties, term, renewal, notice periods and money into a fixed summary.
  • Points to wording that differs from the rest of the document.
  • Lists every date and deadline the document names.
  • Restates a clause in plain language, keeping the original alongside.
  • Lists the questions that need an authorised person, and why.

What it will not do

  • Not a lawyer, and nothing it produces is legal advice.
  • No lawyer–client relationship, and no privilege attaches to anything here.
  • Does not assess an individual case and does not direct anyone’s course of action.
  • Where the answer depends on jurisdiction, it names the question instead of answering it.
